Like many who are working in the natural health world, I became a practitioner through resolving my own health issues with complementary therapies. Seeing what a difference it made inspired me to learn more and share what I learned. I love that the body and mind know exactly how to heal if we supply a more natural diet, support ourselves with gentle remedies, create an 'inner dialogue' of compassion and so let the intelligence of our being create internal harmony. Creating change in ourselves, whether cleaning up the diet, working on limiting beliefs or correcting biochemical imbalances can be tough (but I'm certainly not in the 'no pain, no gain' camp). I believe our natural disposition is towards health and joy, but life and lifestyle get in the way. Taking the time to create an internal body and mind environment where change is inspired rather than forced can have profound and long-lasting health benefits.
I am a huge believer in self-help and I'm also a yoga teacher (I've yet to find a better all-round body, mind and soul self-help therapy than yoga..)
